Islamic Girls School
At Toobaa Academy, we strive to offer a curriculum that is firmly rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah, As the Prophet Muhammad stated, "I am leaving amongst you two things; you will never go astray as long as you cling to them: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah."
Toobaa Academy recognizes Islam's long history of female scholarship and we inspire our students to emulate the noble women scholars of Islam's past. There is Faatimah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, about whom it was stated, "I have not seen anyone from amongst the creation of Allah resemble the Messenger of Allah more in speech, conversation and manner of sitting than Fatimah." And about 'Aa'ishah and Umm Salamah, two wives of the Prophet, it was said, "The wives of the Prophet were treasuries of hadeeth, but 'Aa'ishah and Umm Salamah had no equal." And 'Amrah bint 'Abdur-Rahmaan, about whose level of knowledge one of the male predecessors of the Prophet stated: “I came to her and I found her an ocean; its water never ceases.” And the daughter of Sa'eed ibnul Musayyab, whose husband said about her: "She was among the most beautiful people, and most expert of those who know the Book of Allaah by heart, and most knowledgeable of the Sunnah of the Prophet and most aware of the right of the husband.” And Hafsah bint Sireen, about whom one of her male contemporaries stated, “I did not meet anyone whom I prefer (with regards to seeking knowledge) over Hafsah.” When he was asked about two male scholars of high calibre living during the same time, one of them being the brother of Hafsah, he said: “As for me, I do not prefer anyone over her. She learnt the Qur'an by heart when she was twelve years old.”
So, it is in the shade of the diligence and perseverance of these great Muslim women in their pursuit of knowledge that Toobaa Academy models its Islamic and Qur'anic studies curriculum.
